We have a ton of people to thank. The past few weeks have been exciting as we’ve watched the entire Love In Stereo community come together to help start off a project we really feel will be something special.
The above video features two awesome kids: Robbie and Alexia. They have Osteogenesis Imperfecta, often times referred to as “brittle bone disease.” These kids are just two of the countless who’ve been impacted by Special Needs Athletics in Jackson, TN. Here they says thanks (in their own way) to all the people who gave to help make this happen!
We want to say a quick word about how awesome Kickstarter is. This past summer we started talking about doing the project. We came really close to launching it in July. Thankfully we didn’t. They sent us some notes on ways to improve it that would help make it more effective and get more people involved. We listened and it worked. They know what they’re doing.
In case you’re fresh to the site and aren’t sure why we’re even thanking people, check out this original post.
The bottom line: Special Needs Athletics in Jackson, TN is impacting lives. They need funds to help build a sportsplex. It’s going to take a lot of people. We want that to happen. We’re putting out an album called ‘One For The Team’. It features artists like They Might Be Giants, Katie Herzig, Lauren Zettler, Bess Rogers, Shaky Voices, Supercute, Snowglobe, Jason Trachtenburg and more. Through Kickstarter and other efforts (including an incredible fundraiser put on by students in Texas — more on that for another post) we were able to raise over $3,000 which will enable us to more than cover the cost of printing and allow the entire album profits to go to the team.
The album releases in February. We want it to spread the love, joy and amazing story of what’s happening with the special needs community here in West TN all over the globe.
So . . . thank you. Thank you to friends, old and new, who helped. Because of you even more great things are about to happen. In addition to helping the crew at Special Needs Athletics, you’ve pumped us up. We’re fully enlivened by this whole project. You’ve encouraged us. Thank you.
