Some of the Love in Stereo crew will be joining thousands of other music fans headed to Nashville tonight and Saturday night to check out the Rites of Spring Music Festival at Vandy. A great way to start off the summer concert season, Rites of Spring is bringing in yet another lineup of awesome bands. Here’s just a few of our favorites that are headlining two full days of shows:
Friday:
Cold War Kids @ 8:10
Phoenix @ 9:30
Drake @ 11:00
Saturday:
Passion Pit @ 9:00
Ben Harper & Relentless 7 @ 10:30
Another reason to check out the show is to support both Drake and Ben Harper who will be there as part of the Campus Consciousness Tour, a national effort sponsored by Reverb that is bringing awareness to environmental issues and works to inspire people to take action in reducing their footprint and encouraging sustainability.
Click here to check out all of the information about picking up tickets. Single day tickets are $45, and weekend passes are $55 in advance or $65 at the show. Tickets can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 615.322.2425.

On Saturday some of the Love In Stereo crew headed over to Grimey’s in Nashville (only the coolest record store ever, by the way) to check out the in-store performance of indie rock all-stars Surfer Blood. Their latest album “Astro Coast” is constantly playing at our place, and if it isn’t in your rotation, it should be. Go get it right now for just $5 at Amazon. After the show Jonathan interviewed lead singer and Surfer Blood mastermind, J.P. Pitts, and drummer Tyler Schwarz.
